Project Overview

When ESi Controls approached us about developing a new website, we decided to split the existing website into two to allow better analytical reporting.

We decided on a visual sales website to garner interest in the products and to keep clients and potential customers up-to-date with the business activities. A new sales map was incorporated allowing clients to see who their sales managers were.

A distraction-free, fast loading support site was required as these are often accessed in remote locations with poor wifi signals by engineers carrying out installations.

Site Structure and Crosslinking

With a lot of technical documentation, explainer videos and additional product information, the two websites needed careful organisation and structural planning before the build were to commence. As the sites were also due to seamlessly crosslink between each other, we wanted the customer to easily be able to identify where they were. With this in mind the concept of having two differently styled website designs were produced.

User Experience

Due to the large amount of data on the site, having a system that was easy to navigate was paramount to the success of the project. Both sites have been streamlined and independently indexed to help visitors find the desired content quickly. Reporting on both sites independently is now possible, allowing data-driven decisions to be made about content to enhance the user experience further.

Training

Full website training on how to carry out core website changes has been provided to ESi, both in person and ongoing videos. These videos document these frequent actions and have been uploaded to a password protected environment allowing the ESi team to refer back to these when necessary.

Ongoing Work

Since engagement with ESi, we have become a valuable digital partner to them, providing products photography, graphic design and on-going website maintenance. We have shot new product photography, designed new product packaging and instruction manuals as well as assisting in other areas of their business.
