Project Overview

Yellow Moose recently undertook a project to redesign and streamline the websites of Pitacs and its subsidiary brands: Ultraheat, Aeon, Time LED, and Time Cables. The primary objectives were to enhance the visual appeal, improve usability, and simplify product management across all websites.

Objectives

  • Rebuild 5 websites under the brand
  • Create a better user experience
  • Streamline the technologies used

Solutions:

  • Use the same CMS across all sites
  • Product import via CSV
  • Enhanced filtering for end user

Uniform Design and Brand Cohesion

One of the significant achievements of this project was ensuring that all five websites visually aligned with the main brand and company, Pitacs (pitacs.com). Our multi-brand website design approach presented a unified brand identity, reinforcing the association between the brands and the parent company. This visual consistency has enhanced brand recognition and instilled a sense of trust among customers.

Efficient Content Management

By implementing the same content management system (CMS) for all five websites, Pitacs reaped numerous benefits. Firstly, it eliminated the need for separate training sessions and the risk of forgetting processes when switching between different sites and CMS platforms. This saved valuable time and resources, allowing the team to focus on core tasks without duplicating efforts.

Streamlined Product Management

The introduction of an efficient upload system revolutionised product management for Pitacs. With half of their sites featuring several thousands product variations, the existing system has in no way efficient in managing this.

The new system enabled the seamless import of new product lines, eliminating the laborious and time-consuming process of manual data entry by around 80%. This innovative solution saved significant time, reducing biannual data input by tens of hours. With the streamlined product management process, Pitacs can now quickly and accurately update their websites with the latest product information, ensuring customers have access to the most up-to-date offerings.

Enhanced User Experience

The redesigned websites now prioritise user experience, ensuring that visitors can easily find the products that meet their specific requirements. A key aspect of this improved usability is the inclusion of a comprehensive set of filters. For the radiator sites, such as Ultraheat and Aeon, these filters include BTU, orientation, finish, and price, among others. The intuitive filter system empowers users to quickly narrow down their search and locate the desired products, enhancing their overall browsing experience.

Results

The implementation of a shared CMS across all websites has saved significant time and resources, eliminating the need for separate training sessions. The unified design has strengthened the brand identity, while the streamlined product management process has expedited the addition of new product lines, while the enhanced usability, particularly the intuitive filter system, has greatly improved the end-user experience. Pitacs now boasts a cohesive online presence that aligns with their overarching goals and delivers an exceptional experience for their customers.
